Savanna Karcher, Miss Stampede Days Rodeo Queen 2014

Savanna Karcher - Long Beach, CA
Miss Stampede Days Rodeo
Queen 2014

Hello rodeo fans! My name is Savanna Karcher, and I am proud to be your 2014 Stampede Days Rodeo Queen. I am so excited to travel throughout California with my court and the Kern County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse, but first let me tell you a little about myself.

I was born 23 years ago in Long Beach, California to my wonderful parents Ted and Jean. I grew up in the Antelope Valley, where I soon discovered my passion for horses. I started volunteering at Saddle Up Therapeutic Riding Stables at the age of nine, cleaning stalls and brushing horses in exchange for riding lessons. Within a year I had fallen in love with a horse belonging to the owner’s son, Geoff. You can imagine how excited I was when they decided to retire JC from high school rodeo and put him up for sale. My parents and I snatched him up, and my 4-H and gymkhana adventures with my new best friend began. JC and I won multiple championships through AV 4-H (even one for English riding), and a AA saddle at Antelope Valley Desert Riders. When I finally retired JC at the age of 30 we had quite the list of accomplishments to our names. I can’t say how grateful I am to have had the chance to compete with him.

It was around this time that I began college, and after a few course changes settled on Animal Science as my major. I transferred to Fresno State in 2012 and graduated this past May with my Bachelor’s in Animal Management and Production, with an emphasis on Equine Science. During my years at Fresno State I began competing in ranch rodeo events with my trusty new mount Angel, and developed a love for sorting and roping. We recently moved to Squaw Valley where we compete at the local rodeo grounds and help out at the occasional branding.

Last but definitely not least, I have to thank my wonderful friends and family for supporting me in this endeavor. I also have to thank Image That&Photography by Dawn (https://www.facebook.com/ImageThatPhotographybyDawn), Karen Russel Photography (https://www.facebook.com/KarenRussellPhotography), and my rhinestone sponsor Snowflake Designs (http://www.snowflakedesigns.com/). Most of all, a big thank you to my Jr. Miss Alicia Aluisi, my Little Miss Sheridan Knight, their families and the KCSMP. I can already tell that you guys are going to make this an extraordinary year! And thank you for stopping by the Stampede Days Rodeo Royalty page. Don’t forget to check out the KCSMP’s page to read about all the charity work they do, and we’ll see you at “The Biggest Little Rodeo in California”!

Alicia Aluisi - Bakersfield, CA
Miss Stampede Days Rodeo
Jr. Queen 2014

Having the dream of winning my own crown and buckle, and an opportunity to represent the sport of rodeo, I am so honored to be the 2014 Stampede Days Rodeo Jr. Queen. I have finally begun to live my life as I envisioned since I was five years old and started taking my first horseback riding lessons. I am the 17 year old daughter of Don and Karen Aluisi. I am a senior in high school and have maintained a 4.0 grade point average. It was the excitement and enthusiasm from Kern County towards the western way of life that made me want to be a part of the Stampede Days Rodeo Royalty. I share that same love and wanted to represent this great community throughout California.

Having been raised in a farming family, the only thing I like better than riding tractors, is riding my horses. I compete in many shows that include ranch pleasure and boxing classes as well as barrels and poles, with my two horses, Bob and Holly. While my need for speed is fulfilled with my gelding, my mare makes it fun to get down and dirty with the cows!

I have been involved in various leadership roles throughout high school, including National Honor’s Society and Future Farmer’s of America (FFA). Through my involvement with FFA, I raised beef cattle, showing them at the Fresno County Fair. I also competed in many speech contests and horse judging contests and received many awards in both. I was selected as the Greenhand Farmer of the Year and Chapter Farmer of the Year, and while I enjoyed these successes in FFA, my passion for riding and my love for rodeo has always remained my priority.

I would like to thank my parents for helping me make my dream come true as well as the Posse and the pageant committee for the opportunity they have provided me. As Stampede Days Rodeo Jr. Queen, I am most excited to promote Kern County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse and one of the most prestigious rodeos in California this coming year.

Here’s to a great year of rodeo fun and representation while creating many memories along the way!

Sincerely,
Alicia Aluisi

Zoey Wilkerson, Miss Stampede Days Rodeo Tiny Princess 2014

Zoey Wilkerson - Bakersfield, CA
Miss Stampede Days Rodeo
Tiny Princess 2014

Zoey Wilkerson is 7 years old, she is a second grader at Granite Pointe Elementary. Zoey has been riding horses since she was able to sit up. Her first horse was a mini named Chip. Before we knew it Zoey had out grown Chip, it was time to get a big horse. We searched high and low to find the perfect spotted pony. We soon found Percy. Percy is her best friend. When not at a horse show, lesson or just horsing around you can find Zoey in the rabbit barn. She raises meat rabbits for show and market. Zoey has been a 4-H member for two years. When she is 9 she will be able to show Percy in 4-H. Zoeys love for rodeo queens all started a few years ago when Victoria Darling was running for princess. Zoey has always been Victoria's biggest little fan. As always if Victoria does it Zoey needs to also do it, so here she is holding the title for Miss SDR Tiny Princess. Zoey is very excited to be a part of the rodeo royalty. Zoey is excited to join the royalty in parades and many other events. She loves to represent "Her Posse" as she call them. Wearing her crown, sash and buckle proud.

Zoey would like to thank all her sponsors and everyone who purchased tickets. Most importantly a huge thank you to all her grandparents and family. Zoey never let them forget that she was selling tickets and that she WAS going to be the next Tiny Princess! She maybe the Tiny Princess but she has Big Dreams of becoming Miss Rodeo America!
